Success Story: NAFDA

Aal Seha ( عالساحة )

The Tree House Foundation, committed to empowering Lebanese youth as engaged citizens, proudly supports nafda in enhancing the impact of the interactive educational initiative, Aal Seha ( عالساحة ). Developed by nafda and external experts, Aal Seha is a card-based citizenship tool designed to instill values of active citizenship, good governance, and social justice among students. Unlike digital tools, this hands-on game fosters real-world engagement, making learning interactive and impactful.

Through support from The Tree House Foundation and other nafda partners, Aal Seha has evolved into an effective game-based citizenship tool. To date, it has reached 3,700 students across 80 schools, with remarkable outcomes:

  • 90% of learners and facilitators reported increased student engagement and community involvement.
  • 89% of students stated that the game positively influenced their knowledge, attitudes, and behavior concerning active citizenship, social justice, and good governance.

“There was a funny incident during recess. Students stood in line at the store as I rushed to get a croissant. One of the students says, Miss, what you did was wrong. We should respect everyone’s turn, just as you taught us. ”

Data-Driven Impact

The effectiveness of Aal Seha has been validated through a rigorous evaluation process, including pre- and post-tests, focus groups, student and teacher interviews, and feedback forms. Data was triangulated across these sources and analyzed using standardized procedures to ensure the credibility of findings.

Why The Tree House Foundation Supports nafda’s Interactive Learning

This collaboration aligns with The Tree House Foundation’s mission to foster responsible citizenship by providing youth with tools to impact their communities and contribute to Lebanon’s future positively. The success of Aal Seha reaffirms an essential truth: When young people are equipped with the right tools and knowledge, they don’t just learn; they take action. We have witnessed this transformation in classrooms, school corridors, and daily interactions, where students question, reflect, and advocate for fairness and integrity.

By integrating the game-based learning methodology of Nafda, The Tree House Foundation has supported the empowerment of thousands of students across Lebanon, engaging them in critical conversations about citizenship, governance, and social responsibility.
